Joe Fratantonio Impresses in his GOJHL Debut

Joe Fratantonio debuted for the Welland Canadiens Monday night stopping 31/33 for a .939 Sv%. Joe seemed to make an opportunity out of nothing for himself. He was invited to practice last week with the team for a tryout and they signed him the next day. Joe got his first start only days later and played great, being awarded the "Hard Hat" by his teammates for player of the game.

Joey is a relentless worker and has faced adversity in his junior hockey career every season but always seems to persevere. He has moved up every single season he has played since playing HS hockey at North Royalton 3 years ago. He first played in the USPHL in Wisconsin as a 3rd goalie then he went to the Manitoba Keystone Junior League and now is playing in the GOJHL in Welland, Ontario.

Joe had a set back last week after being the last cut for a team in the SIJHL but he moved on quickly and kept his focus looking for another opportunity. He came home for a week and wanted to stay sharp and keep training to stay ready for a door that might open. He did exactly that and we couldn't be more proud of his effort, perseverance and attitude.

Good Luck Joe! We will be following and cheering you on!
